Job Objective:  

The Supervisor Sourcing is an entry-level leader that manages the day-to-day operations of the Sourcing function. This role will be responsible for ensuring assigned areas operate in a cost effective and efficient manner to achieve defined business objectives and goals.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities of the Position: 

  • Lead and supervise the Sourcing team as well as provide guidance, coaching, and support. 
  • Oversee day-to-day sourcing activities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. 
  • Provide direction to team according to established policies and management guidance. 
  • Oversee day-to-day work schedules and plans. 
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical sourcing practices. 
  • Review relevant factors to analyze situations and resolve issues. 
  • Utilize data and metrics to drive efficiency and effectiveness in the sourcing process. 
  • Locate vendors of materials, equipment, or supplies to determine product availability and terms of sales. 
  • Responsible for achieving defined business objectives and contributes to department KPI’s. 
  • Conduct forecasting for raw material cost and consumption. 
  • Continuously analyze market and delivery conditions to ensure present and future material availability. 
  • Work with Manufacturing, Engineering, R&D and Product Development to develop product specifications and source substitute and new materials.  
  • May handle complex problems pertaining to sourcing, purchasing, suppliers, inventory, claims, and customer relations. 
  • Actively involved in sourcing invectives and provides support to resolving problems.  
  • Work towards achieving sourcing sales and margin objectives. 
  • Visit suppliers and manufacturing plants to ensure product quality and service. 
  • Perform other duties as needed.  

 

Required Experience and Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.  
  • 4-6 years’ relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.  
  • 0-3 years of management experience preferred.

  • High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures.
