Job Objective: 


The Sr Accountant is a high performing contributor that is responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This role involves analyzing complex financial information, reconciling accounts, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

 

Duties and Responsibilities of the Position: Using brief, bulleted, narrative statements, describe the main tasks and responsibilities that an employee in this position would be expected to manage. 
•    Maintains updated and accurate automated or manual filing and data systems that provides a quick reference database of records.
•    Fulfills reporting requirements for all ad hoc requests. 
•    Completes financial close which includes physical inventory, journal entries, and completing month-end reports.
•    Prepares plant account reconciliations.
•    Compiles, analyzes, calculates cost data, and maintains the standard cost for manufactured products.
•    Research variance issues to determine root causes.    
•    Verify that statistical and financial reports are accurate and in compliance. 
•    Interact with internal and external auditors as required.
•    Prepare monthly capital forecasts.
•    Analyze capital investments and calculate payback and rate of return.
•    Complete Annual Operating Plan.
•    Complete monthly financial forecast.
•    Perform other duties as necessary.

 

Required Experience and Education: 
•    Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
•    4-6 years of job-related experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
•    CPA certification preferred.

 

Competencies: 
•    Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required and Sarbanes-Oxley.
•    Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline.
•    Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
•    Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
•    High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
•    Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products. 
•    Flexible attitude, adaptable to change, team player, and able to handle multiple projects at once.
•    High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedure.
•    Proficient in SAP systems.
