FORKLIFT OPERATOR - 1ST SHIFT

This is first shift position working Monday to Thursday from 4am to 2:30pm at the Rt. 30 location. The hourly rate of pay is $22.28.

The Forklift Operator operates various industrial powered equipment to move work in process during the manufacturing of mosaic tile.

Major Functions & Scope:

• Operates various powered industrial trucks to transport work in progress or finished product.
• Removes and empties scrap and waste containers.
• Documents and tracks simple inventory of work in process.
• Monitors equipment or processes and reports problems to supervisor.
• Follows standard operating and safety procedures.
• Keeps area safe, clean and organized.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Education & Knowledge:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

• 0 -1 year previous manufacturing/production experience.
• Prior forklift operating experience required.

Core Competencies:

• Good oral and written communications skills.  Good record keeping skills. Good listening skills.
• Accurate measurement capability. 
• Ability to understand and speak basic English.
• Ability to work in a safe and conscientious manner.
• Must be Dal-Tile certified to operate powered industrial trucks.
