The Sr Director SAP is a senior-level leader that is responsible for providing strategic leadership, vision, and oversight to the SAP team to align SAP technology initiatives with business goals. This role involves strategic planning, team management, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions that align with business goals and customer needs.

 

  • Develop and implement the strategic vision for the SAP landscape, aligning with overall business objectives.
  • Establish and maintain SAP governance standards, processes, and methodologies.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing SAP team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure professional development.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of SAP projects and the overall SAP landscape, including SAP S4 HANA.
  • Prioritize initiatives based on strategic goals and resource availability.
  • Ensure SAP projects adhere to organizational policies and standards.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand business objectives and ensure alignment with SAP initiatives.
  • Communicate SAP project status, risks, and issues to executive leadership.
  • Collaborate with SAP vendors and partners to evaluate product roadmaps, negotiate contracts, and ensure the effective delivery of services.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in the SAP space.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the SAP landscape and recommend enhancements to increase efficiency.
  • Develop and manage the budget for SAP initiatives, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficient resource allocation.
  • Implement best practices and standard methodologies.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • 12+ years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years of management experience.
  • Expert SAP knowledge of: ABAP programming language, bapi, idoc, ALV, SAPscript, batchinput, smartforms, LSMW, job scheduling, implementation of OSS notes, etc. Technical knowledge of SAP authorizations, Java, SAP Netweaver, etc. is a plus.
  • Expert experience and understanding of ERP applications, system development life cycle, dynamics of applications development projects, and IT practices and methods. Knowledge of EAI / integration principles is a plus.
  • Focus on SAP’s Transportation Management and Extended Warehouse Management is preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of SAP business processes & SAP modules.

  • Solid understanding of people management strategies and how to develop team members into successful leaders.
  • Begins leading through other leaders, instead of setting operational approach.
  • Able to lead and support their function while achieving impact and improvements across all functional areas.

  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, delegate, and manage time effectively.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures.
