The Sr QA Analyst is a high-performing contributor that works on a team to ensure that business outputs adhere to enterprise quality assurance programs and policies. This role works to identify operating problems and carry out or participate in problem analysis and system design in preparation for the enhancement, modification, or development of programs.

 

Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:

  • Work with the Business personnel requesting the data warehouse solution to understand the driving issues that prompted this request, business issues related to request, and criteria needed to provide a successful solution.
  • Develop BI solutions for data warehouse and reporting applications in accordance with BI system design and development standards. 
  • Develop use case related test cases and test scripts to be used to comprehensively test applications prior to turning over to the business for their testing.
  • Develop necessary program documentation including requirements specifications, system test results, and operational procedures as needed. 
  • Make process and business decisions based on understanding of company and customer as well as industry practices, standards, and trends.
  • Provide quality assurance for specified production solutions that require ongoing monitoring and support. 
  • Review and analyze daily procedures which indicate the successful or unsuccessful completion of the solution. 
  • Monitor error logs and problem reports; determine cause of program failures and develop and implement corrective action or solicit required support.
  • Perform necessary follow-up actions to ensure prompt service and minimum system downtime or project delays.
  • Maintain quality assurance standards and procedures for the BI Team and train team members in their application.

  • Find ways to assess and apply innovative ideas to enhance business results.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to evaluate technical, system, and process improvements.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

 

Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.     
  • 4-6 years’ relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.     
  • Demonstrated proficiency in BI tools like Business Objects, Webi, SQL, PowerBI, Tableau, etc. (at least two).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in ETL tools like SAP Data Services, Microsoft SSIS, Microstrategy, Ab Initio, etc. (at least two).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in database technologies like SAP HANA, SQLServer, DB2, Oracle, etc. (at least two).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in multiple modules in SAP data like SD, MM, FI, AR, AP, etc. preferred.
