The Program Manager is a leading performer that manages technology projects and processes by leveraging creativity and comprehensive operational understanding to resolve a wide range of business issues. This role develops project plans, directs, and coordinates activities to ensure that goals or objectives of projects and/or programs are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.

 

Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:

  • Leading the planning, coordination, and execution of large cross-functional projects or processes that may span the organization, cross business unit boundaries, and have direct and high organizational impact.
  • Establish & maintain the program’s organization, ensuring clarity about roles, responsibilities, and escalation paths, translating business goals into a coherent plan that includes delivery milestones, dependencies, and benefits realization.
  • Ensure that program & project goals are accomplished and aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage the team that develops and carries out internal IT projects.
  • Maintain effective, productive, and professional working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Proactively manage program-level risk, issues and change regarding scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Provide direction on staff development and training, budget management, feasibility studies, delegation, project and resources control, teamwork coordination, and project team constructive feedback as it pertains to individual, project, or overall program performance. 
  • Ensure infrastructure, security, and governance requirements and best practices are accounted for before, during and after program realization.
  • Monitor and report on program performance through metrics, dashboards, and governance routines.
  • Perform high-level critical thinking, detailed information gathering, and application of business knowledge.
  • Generate fresh perspectives, breakthrough ideas, and new approaches that add value to the company.
  • Ensure the successful delivery of individual projects within the program, including maintaining adherence to timelines, budget, scope, and quality standards by following the company’s project methodology.

 

Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.         
  • 6-8 years’ relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.  
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale, cross-functional IT programs.
  • PMP, ACP, PgMP, or equivalent certification preferred.

  • Expertise in program governance, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field.
  • Recognized cross-functionally as an expert within one or two subject matter areas.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexible attitude, adaptable to change, team player, and able to handle multiple projects at once.
  • High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures.

 

Other Pertinent Job Information:

  • Temporary indirect reporting relationships may exist while working as Project lead. May be required to act in senior role, providing task related advice and direction to junior team members.
