Job Objective:
The Sourcing Manager, Finished Goods is an individual-contributor procurement professional responsible for managing sourcing strategy and supplier relationships for the Finished Goods category. This role drives cost-effective, high-quality outcomes through contract negotiation, sourcing and market analytics, and strong internal and supplier relationships, ensuring the category achieves defined business objectives and goals.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:
• Own the sourcing strategy and supplier base for the Finished Goods category, in accordance with established policies and business guidance.
• Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, pricing, and terms to secure cost-effective, high-quality outcomes.
• Conduct spend, market, and supplier analytics to inform sourcing decisions and identify cost-savings and risk-mitigation opportunities.
• Work with senior management to plan and develop / control budgets to ensure cost-effective operations to deliver high quality products to customers.
• Locate vendors of materials, equipment, or supplies to determine product availability and terms of sales.
• Manage supplier relations and contract compliance while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct.
• Review and develop supplier performance scorecards to monitor quality, delivery, cost, and service levels across the Finished Goods supply base.
• Responsible for achieving defined business objectives and contributes to department KPI’s.
• Conduct forecasting for raw material cost and consumption.
• Continuously analyze market and delivery conditions to ensure present and future material availability.
• Work with Manufacturing, Engineering, R&D, and Product Development to develop product specifications and source substitute and new materials.
• May handle complex problems pertaining to sourcing, purchasing, suppliers, inventory, claims, and customer relations.
• Actively involved in sourcing initiatives and provide support to resolving problems.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers, and influence cross-functional partners to align on sourcing strategy and priorities.
• Work towards achieving sourcing sales and margin objectives for the Finished Goods category.
• Visit suppliers and manufacturing plants to ensure product quality and service.
• Perform other duties as needed.
Required Experience and Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
• 6-8 years’ relevant procurement/sourcing experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
• Demonstrated experience in contract negotiation, sourcing/spend analytics, and supplier relationship management.
Competencies:
• Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field.
• Strong contracting skills, with the ability to draft, negotiate, and manage supplier contracts and terms of sale.
• Skilled in sourcing and market analytics, using data to drive fact-based decisions, cost savings, and risk mitigation.
• Strong negotiation skills, with a demonstrated track record of achieving favorable outcomes with suppliers.
• Ability to influence internal stakeholders and drive alignment across cross-functional teams without direct authority.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with a personable approach that builds trust with suppliers and internal stakeholders alike.
• Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
• Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.
• Flexible attitude, adaptable to change, team player, and able to handle multiple projects at once.
• High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures.
