Job Objective:
The Manager Purchasing is a first-level manager that oversees the day-to-day operations of a purchasing team. This role will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the procurement process to ensure the timely acquisition of goods and services at the best possible value.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:
• Lead comprehensive data analysis initiatives to cleanse, normalize, and validate historical spend data, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and decision ready insights for procurement and sourcing teams.
• Develop, standardize, and govern spend taxonomy in collaboration with the Center of Excellence (COE) and Global Ceramics stakeholders to enable consistent reporting, benchmarking, and strategic analysis across regions and categories.
• Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reporting tools to track spend performance, productivity initiatives, savings realization, and procurement KPIs, enabling timely and data-driven decision making.
• Develop and implement a Raw Material planning structure, aligning demand forecasting, supply planning, and sourcing strategies to support operational continuity, cost optimization, and risk mitigation.
• Establish and manage a bottoms up Procurement Annual Operating Plan (AOP) roll up process, consolidating category- and site-level plans into an aligned, enterprise-wide procurement roadmap.
• Analyze purchasing data and external market trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction, value enhancement, supplier optimization, and supply risk mitigation; translate insights into actionable sourcing strategies.
• Partner closely with inventory management, supply chain, and operations teams to optimize inventory levels, reduce stockouts, minimize excess inventory, and lower total carrying costs while maintaining service levels.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with finance, operations, planning, and sourcing teams to ensure alignment between procurement strategies, financial targets, and business objectives.
• Continuously improve procurement processes, analytics capabilities, and planning methodologies, embedding best practices and scalable solutions across the organization.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and subject-matter expertise to team members and stakeholders, fostering a data-driven culture and accountability for performance outcomes.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering open communication, collaboration, and mutual trust.
• Perform other duties as needed.
Required Experience and Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
• 6-8 years’ relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
• 1-3 years of management experience.
