The Planning Manager is a first-level manager who is responsible for overseeing and optimizing planning processes to ensure efficient resource allocation, production schedules, and inventory management. This role will lead the day-to-day activities of the planning team, collaborate with cross-functional departments, and develop strategies to streamline production and distribution processes.

  • This is a direct hire role; We are NOT open to employing through contractor or agency

 

Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:

  • Review, monitor and make decisions regarding inventory levels, inventory turns, and planning.

  • Supervise and direct planners in their purchasing activities of assigned product groups.

  • Research impact of recommended changes with external areas that may be affected.

  • Liaison with planning, customer service, manufacturing, sales, and senior management regarding prioritization of critical, high-profile orders based on impact to customers and business of prioritizing decisions.

  • Address, communicate, and offer resolutions for inventory issues.

  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop accurate demand forecasts.

  • Utilize forecasting data to optimize production and inventory planning.

  • Oversee daily work schedules and plans.

  • Allocate resources effectively to meet production and planning objectives.

  • Monitor and adjust resource allocation based on demand fluctuations.

  • Perform other duties as needed.


Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.

  • 6-8 years relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.

  • 1-3 years of management experience.

  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.

  • Flexible attitude, adaptable to change, team player, and able to handle multiple projects at once.

  • High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures.
