Objective:

The Manager Accounting is a first-level manager that oversees the day-to-day accounting functions and financial reporting activities of an accounting team. This role requires strong technical accounting expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to lead and develop a team of accounting professionals.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance by verifying the accuracy of methods and controls according to GAAP.
  • Manage SAP integrity and ensure the accuracy of transactions.
  • Oversee month end closing processes: journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, systems interface, and inter-company balancing.
  • Ensure that clerks and technicians are performing their duties properly and efficiently.
  • Manage foreign currency processes: translation, revaluation, etc.
  • Lead monthly variance review meetings with management and present monthly variances to management for them to be sufficiently informed of financial data.
  • Manage the global reconciliation tool to include working collaboratively with the segments to ensure all account reconciliations are prepared and reviewed monthly.
  • Manage the lease process to ensure policies and procedures are being followed globally.
  • Supervise less experienced team members, review the work and analysis performed by those team members, and provide guidance on more complex transactions and reconciliations.
  • Serve as audit liaison for both Internal and External auditors and manage SOX activities for the Corporate Accounting Group.
  • Identify areas of improvement within the accounting department to increase efficiencies and develop streamlined accounting processes, implementing solutions accordingly.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

 

Required Experience and Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • 1-3 years of management experience.
  • CPA certification preferred.
