The Communications & Events Specialist is an established performer who works to facilitate and support marketing communications functions and events by utilizing strong knowledge of industry practices and standards. This role is responsible for trade show management and sales support

 

Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:

  • Support and track trade show marketing materials, including backdrops, displays, samples, literature, and giveaways.
  • Manage all trade show-related invoices, purchases, and registrations to ensure each show remains within the allotted budget.
  • Accountable for the accuracy of all marketing materials and ensuring all information is current.
  • Lead contact between trade show vendors and brand marketing team.
  • Provide accurate & timely proofing, fact checking, copywriting, editing, and formatting assistance during the management of trade show and event materials.
  • Develop timelines and communicate status for all events and trade shows.
  • Influence others within the job area through explanation of facts and policies to resolve routine issues.
  • Work on projects and assignments as part of a large work team.
  • Perform accurate analyses, conduct research, and draw meaningful conclusions about potential job/work-area impacts.
  • Draw from prior experience, interpret facts, and identify incomplete data/anomalies to solve problems.
  • Use innovative solutions to enhance personal work and, where applicable, the work of the team.
  • Effectively apply functional, process, and procedural or technical knowledge to address business challenges.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to entry-level professionals.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

 

Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.   
  • 2-4 years of job-related experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

 

Competencies:

  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of technical, process, and business principles as well as industry practices and standards.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite products.
