Job Objective:
The Construction Manager is a leading performer that manages construction and capital improvement projects from planning through completion while balancing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and business priorities. This role partners with business leaders, architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors to deliver construction projects that support operational needs, enhance company facilities, and provide long-term value for the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:
· Manage construction and renovation projects through all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project closeout.
· Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans while monitoring progress, controlling costs, and managing project risks throughout execution.
· Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure construction projects align with operational requirements, business priorities, and long-term facility plans.
· Coordinate the work of architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and vendors while maintaining project quality, schedule, safety, and regulatory compliance.
· Lead project communications by providing status updates, resolving issues, facilitating decision-making, and ensuring alignment among project stakeholders.
· Review project designs, construction documents, contracts, change orders, and project expenditures to ensure compliance with company standards and approved funding.
· Monitor project performance through site visits, milestone tracking, financial reporting, and risk assessments while implementing corrective actions as needed.
· Identify opportunities to improve project delivery, construction processes, and vendor performance while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the construction program.
· Performs other duties as needed.
Required Experience and Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
· 6-8 years relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
Competencies:
· Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field.
· Recognized cross-functionally as an expert within one or two subject matter areas.
· Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
· Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
· High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
· Proficient using Microsoft Suite of products.
· Flexible attitude, adaptable to change, team player and able to handle multiple projects at once.
· High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures.
